# Keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard controls for finding work and editing designs.

Tool shortcuts apply when the canvas is active and the design permits the action. They do not run while you are typing or using a dialog.

Drawing shortcuts are unavailable in engineering mode and on view-only or locked designs. The battery tool is not available in v2.

## Drawing and map controls

Use `Enter` to finish a shape. Undo removes the last drawing change. Hold `Shift` for the tool's angle constraints.

Drag the map to pan, or hold `Shift` while dragging to orbit. During [imagery alignment](https://docs.solesca.com/editor/map/#line-up-2d-imagery-with-3d), arrow keys nudge the alignment and `Shift` increases the step.

Menus show shortcuts for the actions available to the current selection.
